Interrobang is a collaboration among San Diego's premier design-oriented organizations and takes its name from the excitement and questions that good (and bad!) design provoke.
The lecture series is brought to you by the San Diego chapters of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), and the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).
National speakers are invited to San Diego to lead these forums. Our focus is to inform and educate our members and the public. Topics will include what all designers and the public want to know about historic preservation, green design and smart growth.
Adèle Naudé Santos, FAIA
 Adèle Naudé Santos, FAIA, is an architect and urban designer whose career combines professional practice, research, and teaching. Ms. Santos has won international design competitions, published work in journals worldwide and has worked in cultures as diverse as Japan, Africa, and the United States. Ms. Santos is currently Dean of the School of Architecture and Planning at MIT, as well as principal architect in the San Francisco based firm, Santos Prescott and Associates.
Her academic career includes professorships within the graduate programs of UC Berkeley, Harvard, Rice University and the University of Pennsylvania where she served as chairman of the Dept. of Architecture. She was also founding Dean of the UC San Diego School of Architecture and has had numerous visiting appointments throughout the world.
Ms. Santos is currently working on an affordable housing project for 80 artists including gallery and performance space in Venture, CA and has recently completed Mission Creek Senior Housing , a building that has 140 affordable units as well as a library and an adult day health center.
