Designed For Life Kitchen and Bath Contest

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

OVERVIEW:  This first-of-its-kind contest is sponsored by ReVisions Resources in partnership with AARP San Diego and the American Society of Interior Designers | San Diego Chapter.  The three nonprofit organizations are conducting the contest as part of an 18-month public awareness campaign to educate the public about innovative, attractive and safe home modifications for aging in place.  Many of us will want to live independently in our own homes as we age, so updating our home environment is key and a new challenge as we live longer in the 21st century. The goal of the campaign is to stimulate homeowners to take a fresh look at their homes with a new critical perspective so they can rethink and reconsider modifications and remodeling that could make their homes better for their later years.

CONTEST DESCRIPTION:  Homeowners in San Diego County will have the opportunity to win innovative products for the home, room designs by ASID San Diego Chapter design members, and products and services for a kitchen or bath update. The contest is open to all homeowners 45 years of age and older. The entry form is simple: contestants will tell their stories about why they’d like or need a kitchen or bath update.  Finalists will have the opportunity to meet with an ASID San Diego Chapter design member who will create a custom solution for their home and wishes.  These designs will be submitted to a blue-ribbon jury that will pick one kitchen winner and one bath winner based on the most successful design solutions.  All contestants will also have the opportunity to win other prizes for the home through a drawing that will take place at the awards program.
