Welcome to ASID San Diego!

The San Diego Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers is proud to be one of the most active ASID chapters in the country with over 750 local interior designer and industry partner (material and service providers) members. Our members are high caliber, warm and energetic professionals. Both our interior designers and industry partners work together in a synergistic fashion for the promotion of the industry.

The ASID San Diego chapter fosters this synergy by providing a forum for members to come together to seek and generate knowledge. The chapter also functions to advance the interior design profession through advocacy of interior design legislation, professional and public education, expansion of interior design markets and to encourage member involvement and chapter unity amoung our diverse membership.

San Diego Community Benefits
For the local community, ASID San Diego functions as a referral and informational resource. Through our web site, ASIDSanDiego.org, the public can search for residential and commercial interior designers and industry partners that meet their project's needs. The web site also helps to educate the public about the interior design profession.

Our popular public events includes kitchen/design tours, clearance sales and more and are great opportunities for the local community to meet with designers and learn more about interior design.

Our members are also involved in local community service. Most recently, ASID San Diego members redesigned dog and cat spaces for the San Diego Humane Society in a project called "Dog Digs and Cat Cribs". This project captured the attention of similar facilities across the country and beyond. The most wonderful result was the increase in the adoption rate following the space remodel.

Leaders in the Interior Design Industry
ASID San Diego members are leaders in the interior design industry and well-known throughout the profession. Our members have won countless national awards and recognition for their work. ASID San Diego members continue to occupy leadership positions throughout the country including past and current positions with ASID National and the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ).

The San Diego Chapter is honored to have member Robert Wright, FASID serve as National ASID President 2005 to 2006. Robert has been an active member of ASID since beginning his interior design career. Locally, Robert served as Chapter President from 1994-95. Nationally, he has served on the Board of Directors since 2002.

Committed to Our Students
ASID San Diego recognizes that today's interior design students are tomorrow's industry leaders. With over 350 student members represented by four local student chapters, ASID San Diego is committed to encouraging student involvement and investing in our profession future.

Student members actively participate in the chapter's public events and monthly membership meetings. ASID San Diego regularly sponsors educational events on the campuses and provides scholarship opportunities. Additionally, many instructors at the local schools are ASID members.
